Established in Kidderminster, West Midlands in 2020 by Tom Horler; Tom’s Guitar Shack spent many years unknowingly in development whilst Tom perfected his craft. After years of going from place to place for set ups on his own guitars, never being truly happy with the results; Tom began to research the anatomy of guitars and is self taught through this initial passion project. Tom was quickly becoming the go to service used by close friends and local musicians, and eventually further a field via word of mouth.
With his love of guitars as a staple, his passion to set up an instrument to its optimal playing capabilities quickly morphed into a desire to help others achieve this with their own guitars.
After many years of experience, Tom’s Guitar Shack now stop at nothing to ensure our clients are more than satisfied with the instruments they entrust to us. We strive to set up every guitar to the highest of standards, allowing its owner to feel comfortable and most importantly, inspired every time they pick up to play!

Lovingly set-up to your requirements and needs, Tom’s Guitar Shack can make your guitar feel and play as best as it possibly can. A poorly set up, badly playing instrument not only hinders the playability and sound, but also your enjoyment of playing and your ability to learn and progress on the instrument. Most people give up or don’t play as often as they should or want, because their instrument is simply too hard to play, most without even realising that is the problem! Let’s get you falling back in love with guitar again.

FULL GUITAR SETUP
Includes:
Full evaluation of guitar
Polish frets
Adjust neck relief
Check and adjust nut slots for action height and lubricate
Clean and lubricate the bridge
Adjust tremolo action to owner’s preferences
Check and adjust bridge saddles
Set bridge height
Set intonation
Adjust pickup height
Check and tighten all screws
Lemon-oil rosewood fretboard
Treat switches and pots with contact cleaner
Deep clean and polish the whole guitar (where required)
Fit new strings gauge of your choice (included in price)
RE-STRING & A DEEP CLEAN
A simple but effective service to ensure your guitar is playing and sounding as good as it can. Free evaluation of the guitar will be done to highlight any issues the guitar may have or where it could be improved.
BONE NUT / SADDLE REPLACEMENT
Improve the tone of your instrument with a new bone nut and/or saddle.
ELECTRONICS &
RE-WIRING
Do you have a new set of pickups you want installed? Are your guitar electronics just not functioning properly? Or maybe you just fancy a change and some modifications to your electronics?
FULL OR PARTIAL
RE-FRET
Install brand new frets on your guitar where the old frets are too worn to be levelled and crowned. Select the fret size and material of your choice. Includes a full setup once new frets have been installed.
BROKEN HEADSTOCK REPAIR
A repair which has different levels to suit your needs and budget. From a repair which can be made almost invisible (in most cases) to a repair which provides the functionality back to the instrument.
